About the Project:
Within the framework of this project, the current building energy uncertainty analysis and the risk-based decision-making model which have been produced by taking into account the local opportunities and constraints of retrofits in Turkey and also considering the adaptation and modification needs, have been used in the construction of the SCOLA building at Özyeğin University. This particular project mainly focuses on technically and hence financially examining different energy efficiency scenarios which can be realized in the retrofitting projects that need to be done in parallel with urban development. Within the scope of this project supported by TUBITAK, a cooperation with the School of Architecture at Georgia Institute of Technology in the field of risk management of retrofitting projects has been undertaken. In this regard, the SCOLA building on Özyeğin University campus has been examined and the innovative energy efficiency applications available in this building have been investigated in terms of technical and financial risks.
Project Finding:
The adaptation of a methodology on energy efficiency need has been shown. A methodology is developed, which is to contribute to the reduction of energy use in the buildings in the short and long term, which will significantly impact the building energy use in Turkey.
