About the Project:
TRIBE project aims to contribute to change citizens’ behaviors towards energy efficiency in public buildings, through their engagement in the experience of playing a social game, linked by ICT to real data collected from 5 pilot buildings hosting around 1,300 regular users (employees, tenants, etc.) and almost 12,000 eventual users (guests). It is targeted to save energy equal to 24,8% of the current energy consumption in the pilot buildings. With this serious game to be created within the scope of the TRIBE project, it is planned to reach more than 75,000 users via the users in the pilot buildings and their social networks by the end of the project. In addition to this game that helps to collect all the necessary information towards energy efficiency, the TRIBE project also produced a comprehensive TRIBE pack of solution suggestions and tools to the service of the owners and tenants of the public buildings as an outcome of the developments and analyses produced as a result of the pilot cases within the framework of the TRIBE project. The project aims to promote the change of behavior in the users of public buildings and to encourage the widespread use of information technologies for energy efficiency among owners and managers of public buildings. A final TRIBE pack includes the following: (1) the preliminary energy control and diagnosis, (2) the creation of a virtual pilot building in accordance with the visuals of the user's own buildings, (3) information technologies adapted to the energy efficiency implementation plan, (4) a funding plan that combines the existing tools with clean online solutions and (5) a campaign designed to address the challenges in creating specific behavioral changes, in which its users are encouraged to participate.
Project Finding:
The basic outputs of the TRIBE project are a mobile game to be developed by using the data from sensor networks placed in pilot buildings and energy simulations, and a pack of experience that enables the accumulation achieved in this process to reach the public. It is aimed that the citizens playing mobile games exhibit behavioral developments especially in the field of energy use in public buildings.
