About the Project:
This project offers a new integrated 3D planning and control environment for construction projects. Although building information modeling (BIM) and construction automation techniques have recently had significant potential for improvement in construction management, the benefits for construction planning and controls have not been realized yet. This proposed project will define an integrated 3D platform for analysis, visualization and energy use of construction process data. It will define the group of techniques that will automate the planning-control cycle for detailed operations for advanced construction management by means of the geometry-based process modeling and simulation approach (GPM) on buildings. Construction team and equipment actions will be optimized by using machine learning techniques in the simulation model. The sensor data will be integrated into the same environment with automatic data collection to implement the data fusion, measure energy performance and improve process feedback. Thanks to the collaborations with experts from leading universities in the US and European Research Area, this project is expected to have a major impact on the numerical modeling of construction systems. Besides, it will contribute to the European excellence for the virtual factory and energy efficient building targets.
Project Finding:
An integrated program platform has been defined in order to increase project efficiency by using building information modeling and construction automation techniques for analysis, visualization and energy use of construction process data.
