About the Project:
Children need to have basic knowledge about scientific concepts and to develop critical thinking skills about how they can apply this scientific knowledge in daily life. The environments such as children's museums, libraries, natural life parks, science centers, planetarium, aquarium are entertaining and interactive educational environments based on students' experience where concepts of sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology that require intensive calculation and memory skills.
Project Finding:
With the research, it is aimed to provide evidence-based research data that will contribute to the design guidelines currently used for new science centers planned to be opened in Turkey. With the findings, it is predicted that the interactive learning mechanisms in science centers can be positioned in such locations where students can interact more effectively. It is aimed to contribute to the national and international literature in terms of science centers regarding the spatial configuration of these informal educational environments.
