About the Project:
One of the key reasons why floods cause enormous economic losses in our country is economic activities conducted in hazardous areas. For this reason, accurate estimation of the flood vulnerability levels of key industrial facilities in our country, and disaster preparedness are essential. For this purpose, in this study, reliable flood damage, economic loss, and post-flood functionality models which accounts for both structural and non-structural damage using probabilistic methods have been developed for critical industrial structures in Turkey, especially in the chemical production sector.
Project Finding:
This study has been a multi-dimensional study that sheds light on flood damage assessments in Turkey and evaluates both the physical losses in the building and the effects of floods on commercial activities for industrial buildings, using probabilistic methods.
Goal:
SDG 11
